Liam Devitt works in the History department’s Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling. Trained as a labour historian at Concordia, they have worked in electoral politics, political advocacy and journalism. Liam is proud to represent their fellow workers and fight for workplace justice.
(He/Him) Collective Agreement Officer
Guénolé Choné has been a research associate at the River Management Lab in the Department of Geography, Planning, and Environment since 2013. In 2022, he became involved with the union as a Bargaining Delegate for the renewal of the Research Employee unit’s collective agreement. Guénolé is a fluvial geomorphologist as well as a specialist in hydraulics and geomatics. His research focuses on identifying and mapping risks associated with rivers, including floods and bank erosion, in collaboration with various levels of government.

Koa Wells is the Lead Software Developer for the Tools4Cities CityLayers project. He leads the technical direction, managing project development in an Agile environment and designing solutions using Python, JavaScript, and React. As a technical leader, Koa promotes a culture of learning, focusing on bridging software and research while ensuring sustainability through quality standards and best practices.

Alberto Osa García is a post-doctoral fellow in the Psychology Department, specializing in the neuropsychology of aging. With a background in communication sciences and experience serving as a liaison between the university and community associations, he aims to build a collaborative environment where all post-docs can thrive during their time at Concordia.
(He/Him) Grievance Officer, Postdoctoral Fellow Unit
Muhammad Manji has been a Postdoc in the Mathematics department since 2024 and is Grievance Officer at CARE. His research specialises in algebra and the theory of numbers. Outside of his research he is interested in language and decolonial literature.
(She/Her) Representative
Iulia Mazgareanu has been a research associate at the River Management Lab in the Department of Geography, Planning, and Environment since 2019. Trained in fluvial geomorphology, she has since been working on modelling and mapping riverine floods at regional scales using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Wanting to break away from alienation and passivity, she joined the Union to take part in the collective effort of those dispossessed of their means of subsistence to transform their circumstances.
(She/Her) Senior Operations Officer
So Young Park has been serving CARE as Senior Operations Officer, bringing a background in public advocacy and labour research. She brings this perspective into her union work, emphasizing the importance of recognizing invisible labour, challenging systemic inequities, and building solidarity across all bargaining units. As an officer, she is committed to ensuring members’ voices are heard and to strengthening the union’s capacity to fight for fairness at work.
Time commitments for executive committee members include an hour-long weekly meeting, as well as approximately one more hour each week for events or tasks related to the position’s duties.

The focus of this committee is on gender pay equity. We currently have two members, but need at least three to share responsibilities evenly and show how much it matters to Concordia University.
