CARE’s Postdoctoral Fellow Committee (“Postdocs Committee”) is an ad-hoc grouping of postdocs interested in joining the core of our union.
Over the summer, the Postdocs Committee and CARE Executives have gathered, discussed, and strategized a better future for postdoctoral fellows at ConU.

We Will Bring Wins to Concordia, Together
As a CARE member, you are also part of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, our parent union that represents nearly 240,000 workers in the federal public service, nonprofits and the university sector, including postdocs at McGill, UdeM, Ecole Polytechnique and UQAM.
In these universities, postdocs have been able to secure benefits, better health and safety conditions, and more stable employment. We will bring those wins to Concordia, together.
We Need All Hands on Deck
There’s a lot of work ahead for the union. Namely, we need to negotiate the first collective agreement for postdocs. Postdocs produce the world-class research that Concordia wants, and we all should make sure to fight for an agreement that reflects how critical your work is to the operation of this university.
But to do that, everyone’s engagement and participation is crucial. In June 2026, the collective agreements for all workers at Concordia, including the non-postdoc membership of CARE, will expire. This means in the coming months, all of Concordia’s unions will be preparing for negotiations with the university. In other words, this is an extraordinary moment of leverage. We need all hands on deck to make sure we can show the University the power of our union.
